The modern world is experiencing significant and rapidly evolving global changes that are fundamentally altering the social and political foundations of human life. The 21st century is characterised by technological progress, economic integration, geopolitical redistribution, and global challenges, all of which determine the formation of a new world order to some extent. Global processes related to the evolution of the digital space, climate change, and international crises create an environment in which state institutions cannot always respond to the demands of modern reality. The pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) has clearly demonstrated the interconnectedness of the world and how quickly a local crisis can escalate into a global one. Therefore, it is crucial to understand global changes and analyse their impact on social and political transformations. In-depth study of this issue allows us to better understand how societies change, the direction in which states are developing and the challenges facing the modern international system. In recent decades, global changes have had a considerable impact on the development of social and political structures. During this ongoing transformation, social norms have undergone change within states, societies and institutions, as well as in terms of political approaches. The phenomenon of economic globalisation has been demonstrated to facilitate the rapid and efficient delivery of capital and information. Concurrently, technological progress, particularly in the domains of digital communication and artificial intelligence, has been shown to be altering the existing social environment. The challenges associated with climate change and resource scarcity emphasise the need for adaptive governance once again. The present study aims to analyse the impact of global changes on social and political transformation processes, and to identify mechanisms that could contribute to the development of national policies, management systems, and social structures. In order to study the issue in depth, the theories of 'securitisation' and 'balance of power' were employed, and the research method was established as document and secondary source analysis. The development of three research questions was informed by the preceding discussion: What impact do global changes in the world have on the decision-making process at the national level? How do the interactions of internal and external factors create challenges and opportunities, the combination of which determines social development? What strategic mechanisms can be used to facilitate the process of sustainable social and political transformation? It is evident that global changes have a significant impact on both social and political transformation processes. Economic, technological and environmental factors, respectively, transform governance systems, social structures and political processes. In order to ensure social and political sustainability, it is imperative that countries and societies effectively manage ongoing processes and ensure inclusive development. The global changes taking place in the world are a complex and multi-layered process, which simultaneously includes technological, economic, social, ecological and political factors. The modern era is distinguished by the unprecedented speed and scale of changes, which is why states and societies are forced to constantly adapt to the new reality. Technological progress, particularly digital transformation and the development of artificial intelligence, has been shown to have a dual impact on economic growth and quality of life. On the one hand, it has been demonstrated to accelerate economic growth and improve quality of life. On the other hand, however, it has been shown to increase social inequality and create new challenges in the labour market. Concurrently, the advent of contemporary forms of globalization has been shown to foster cultural exchange, whilst concomitantly engendering a heightened propensity to safeguard national identity and sovereignty. This phenomenon frequently serves as the foundation for the emergence of political polarisation. The evolving geopolitical landscape signifies a gradual transition towards a multipolar system. This process has been shown to increase the likelihood of both cooperation and conflict, and to significantly change the agenda of international relations. Concurrently, the emergence of global threats, including climate change and pandemics, underscores the transnational nature of contemporary challenges, thereby necessitating a coordinated, collective response. Changes at the social level have been shown to lead to both the transformation of society and the emergence of new social groups or interests, as well as an increase in the activity of citizens. The ongoing processes in the political sphere are reflected in the strengthening of both democratic institutions and, in some cases, authoritarian tendencies. In the aforementioned context, cooperation at the international level assumes particular significance. However, it should be noted that the effective functioning of international institutions is contingent on the political will of member states and the convergence of common interests. In conclusion, it can be posited that the changes taking place at the global level do not only present challenges. Furthermore, they engender novel prospects for advancement. The effective management of these resources necessitates a strategic vision, inclusive policies, education, and the responsible use of technologies. It is imperative that the aforementioned factors are given full consideration if the modern world is to ensure sustainable development, social stability and a just political systemReferences
