Abstract

This paper is linked to one of the most actual issues in higher education policy: integrating the interdisciplinary curricula of creative and artistic higher educational institutions. This is determined by numerous factors, and research has proved how the historical experience, geopolitical and socio-economic situations of the countries directly affect it. However, despitethese different conditions and circumstances, the question of its necessity still arises. Therefore, the aim of the research is studying this process in the case of independent postsoviet Georgia. The object of the research is to discuss the issue in terms of state policy and the quality of sectoral competences. Considering the research objectives and research questions, qualitative research methods are used in this thesis; precisely, analysis of official documents, and face-to-face, semi-structured in-depth interviews. The findings of this empirical study leave an academic space for further research, as the experience of different states is also studied in order to find out the case of these three higher educational institutions of Georgia. Thus, the article on the one hand, tries to enrich the existing academic literature about creative and artistic higher education, and on the other hand, focuses on the context of higher education.
